Drying data should belong to a product, not a rumor.

FilamentFix separates generic material guidance from exact-product manufacturer instructions. When manufacturers—or even two official pages from the same manufacturer—publish different values, we show the difference instead of averaging it away.

Drying ≠ storage

A heated dryer is intended to remove absorbed moisture. A sealed dry box with desiccant is mainly about limiting new moisture exposure. If a spool is already wet, storage alone may not reverse the problem.

Verified drying database — expanded starter set

These values are shown exactly in the scope published by the manufacturer. They are not universal settings for every spool with the same polymer name.

Conflict watch: Polymaker PolyFlex TPU90

Polymaker’s current TPU90 product page shows 50 °C for 6 h in its technical-spec area, while the current Polymaker Wiki/TDS page shows 70 °C for 8 h. FilamentFix marks this as a manufacturer-source conflict instead of choosing or averaging the values. Check the newest product documentation for your spool or ask Polymaker before using the higher-temperature instruction.

Why different numbers can all be correct

Bambu PETG HF, Polymaker PETG, Prusament PETG, Prusament TPU, Bambu PA6-CF and Prusament PA11 are different products and formulations. Their manufacturers publish different drying instructions. FilamentFix treats those differences as useful product data—not an error to hide behind a generic material rule.

When should you dry?

  • When the exact manufacturer instructs pre-drying.
  • When several moisture clues line up: popping, bubbles/rough extrusion, exposure history and gradual degradation.
  • When a highly hygroscopic material has not been kept dry.
  • Not simply because one print has stringing.
